Partner Migration lodgement checklist

1 Completed Form 47SP See: www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/47SP.pdf

3 Application charge. See: Application charges (fees)

4 A certified copy of the passport biodata page for each person included in the application and the sponsor. Australian Embassy Staff or Notary Public may certify documents.

Note: Visa applicants may also be requested to provide their actual passport during the processing of their application.

5 Certified copies of birth certificates for each person included in the application.

6 Certified copies of any other official documents relevant to your application (e.g. marriage certificate, Decree Nisi, deed of name change, death certificate, child custody order, adoption papers etc).

7 Evidence of your relationship (refer to the Partner Migration Booklet 1, Part 7). You do not need to certify copies of these documents.
 

Note: In regard to evidence of your relationship:

- DO NOT send bulky items, such as photo albums, DVDs or videos.
- DO NOT send electronic greeting cards.
- DO NOT arrange your relationship information in folders or plastic sleeves. Such folders and sleeves cannot be attached to your file, and they will be discarded by us. Please place your documentation loosely in the envelope with your application forms.

8 Police certificates for all countries where the applicant has resided in for more than 12 months in the 10-year period immediately prior to the lodgement of the migration application. Australian police certificates can be obtained from the Australian Federal Police (AFP). Application forms can be obtained from the AFP website at http://www.afp.gov.au/what-we-do/police-checks/national-police-checks.aspx

Important:     Biometrics Collection in France

From 31 May 2011, applicants in France, regardless of nationality, lodging paper-based visa applications may be required to provide their biometrics. In line with current visa application lodgement requirements, applicants should continue to send their visa application to the Australian Embassy Madrid, Spain. The Visa Office of the Australian Embassy Madrid will then notify applicants in writing of the requirement to attend the Australian Biometrics Collection Centre (ABCC) in Paris, in person, to provide their biometrics. 
 

Biometrics Collection should be completed prior to making any travel arrangements.
