Ambassador Rosemary Morris-Castico
Ms Morris-Castico is a senior career officer with DFAT and was most recently Assistant Secretary, European Union Branch. She has previously served overseas as Counsellor (Political), Australian Embassy Washington DC (2017-2021); Chargé d’Affaires, Australian Embassy Madrid (2014-2015); and First Secretary then Counsellor (Economic), Australian Embassy Mexico City (2008-2011). In Canberra she served with DFAT as Director, Gulf States Section (2016-2017); Director (Legal), Trade Law Section (2013-2015); Director WTO Tobacco Disputes Section (2011-2012); and Executive Officer, Office of Trade Negotiations (2003-2007).
Ms Morris-Castico holds a Masters in International Law from La Sorbonne University in Paris (2000); a Bachelor of Laws (1995) and a Bachelor of Arts (1992) from Monash University in Melbourne.
Ms Morris-Castico speaks French and Spanish.
